I would appreciate your help on the following delima: Were my Hall ancestors from England or Scotland? I have found the following contradiction which shows: 1. Anne Bolling married John Hall b. in Scotland 2. Anne Bolling married John Hall b. in Virginia whose grandfather came from England. Any ideas? In the book: Pedigrees of Some of the Emperor Charlemange's Descendants by J. Orton Buck and Timothy Field Beard Published by Genealogical Publishing Company, Baltimore, MD, 1978, page 9, it states: Anne Bolling, b 12 Dec. 1713, d aft. 1766;m. ca. 1730, John Hall, b. in Scotland, ca. 1710, d. aft. 1771 Hugh Hall, b. ca. 1730, d. in Brunswick Co., Va., ca. 1771; m. ca. 1748 Mary Dixon, b. in North Carolina, ca. 1733, d. ca 1800. While in the book: Halls of America by Charles H. Hall and Virginia Hall Hancock published by Hallbooks, Gilbertsville, Ky, 1996, page 1, it states: 1. William Hall, helped settle Bermuda Hundred in Virginia Colony 1652 m. Mary Tucker d/o Groege Tucker and Frances. 2. Robert Hall b. ca 1660 d. ca. 1731 m. ca 1683 Elizabeth Harrison b. d. d/o Thomas Harrison and Ellinor Issue: John Hall, Thomas Hall, Hugh Hall, William Hall, Sarah Hall, Ann Hamlin (probably others) 3.
