Hi, I enjoy reading about the NYS Halls, since I live near Hall, Ontario County, NY., but my Halls are from New England, specifically, Plainfield, Ct. I must say my Hall-Hardy-Russell lines from Rhode Island, Connecticut, and NYC have been the hardest to track. All information has the potential for being helpful, but I belong to 5 surname lists, and do appreciate the location in the heading, i.e.: Connecticut Halls, etc. If not there, I open the e-mail, but do have to admit I get discouraged when there is no state locality, estimate of birth year, etc. given. Even county alone is confusing, because many states have the same county names. I know of four states that have a Monroe County, where I live in NYS. So, at the minimum, if people could at least put where they are writing from, or where their ancestors were from, it would help us all out, especially with a common surname like HALL. I am still looking for my New England Halls! Martha Jay "Patty" Hall born 1798 in Binghamton, Broome County, New York. Married to William Henry Hardy on )October 15, 1814 in Broome County, New York. Died November 10, 1863 in East Spring Hill, Bradford County, Pennsylvania (Parents: Silas Hall, Mary "Martha" Jay) Silas Hall born May 19, 1750 in Plainfield, Connecticut. Married 1780 to Mary "Martha" Jay, in New Cornwall, New York. Died May 10, 1850 in Horseheads, Chemung County, New York. John Hall born May 27, 1723 in Plainfield, Connecticut. Married to Olive Spalding on June 29, 1744. Died August 6, 1777 in Castleton, Vermont. Samuel Hall born about 1693 in ?England. Married January 4, 1720 to Abigail Fellows. Samuel Hall died November 5, 1770 in Plainfield, Connecticut. Abigail Fellows born May 13, 1701 in Plainfield, Connecticut. Died September 24, 1727. Father: John Fellows. Any information as to the immigrant ancestor, Samuel Hall? How and why he came to America, etc.? Bertha May Hall has kindly sent me some information in the past, but I still have some holes and unknowns in this puzzle. Would love to correspond or share information with any related kin! Thanks!!
