I am passing this along hope someone can use it and also if you know anything on the family would like to hear from you. Caleb Hall is my direct and this is about his grandson that stayed in Bourbon Co KY [my line Mahlon move his family to DeWitt Co IL by 1830] Barbara Guinn "Historic Architecture of Bourbon County, Kentucky" - In the same area W. B. Hall, a grandson of Caleb, built him home ca. 1850-60 "Located on the Stringtown Road, this provincial but impressive Greek Revival two-story frame residence on dressed limestone foundations has a colossal portico with four polygonal wooden columns. A spiral staircase counteracts the rectangularity of the exterior, pierced by large double windows. Near the house are a one-story frame smokehouse, a two-stall frame mule barn, and a double brick chimney with a limestone arch, possibly from a former servants' quarters." I do not have all of Caleb's grandchildren listed so I cannot say whose son this might be. I find this interesting, the family sold Caleb's old homestead before 1861 and apparently built a new one just down the road. The 1850 census list the following Hall's in District 1: M C A pg 283 [age 33 living alone] George pg 294 [age 19 living with Burton Litton 25] William B. pg 294 [age 24, wife Anna B. 23 and Mary L. 1] Henry pg 302 [age 66 born VA, wife Fanny children 24 - 11] John pg 306 [age 40 wife Nancy 40 7 children age 18 - 1]
