    3. Folks, This thing about cookies can be avoided. First, you need to understand that cookies are not bad or devious. They are a method by which a programmer can assist you though the web site and are easy to use. It is too much of a technical discussion to go into here. The bottom line is that they are useful and, if you know the web site you are viewing, you should not be scared of them. Also most site now have a 'privacy policy' displayed on the web site that explanes how and why they use cookies. You should take the time to read it. Second, you can turn off your messages about cookies so it is not in your face all the time. The instructions are different depending on which browser you use, netscape or internet explorer, so find the 'options or settings' in the ribbon bar at the top and then adjust the settings that deal with cookies.
