I was struck by the name Green Hall in your posting. Here is my Hall family. with a Green b. 1812 in Johnston Co. NC. Revolutionary Pension Request form from 1820 (Johnston Co. NC) identifies JAMES HALL as having been born in 1757. It is difficult to read but he may have enlisted in the Patriot cause in Wake Co. NC or Johnston Co. NC and served several tours in the American militia or line. Apparently he died in 1821, about a year after the pension was approved. His wife is identified as EDEA DELK HALL daughter of Jacob Delk. EDEA died in 1848. His children are shown as: Sally b. 1787 Mary b. 1789 Susanna b. 1793 James b. 1795 Edea b. 1797 John b. 1799 Rachel b. 1802 Reddick/Riddick b. 1805 Beda b. 1808 Green b. 1812 1820 Johnston Co. NC census Hall James 1 1 0 0 0 1 - 0 0 0 0 1 M1-10years = 1 M10-15 years = 1 M45 = 1 F45 = 1 In 1853 Reddick/Riddick/Redick and Green Hall filed papers with a court in Georgia (county not legible) about the pension. Apparently they had moved from Johnston Co. NC to Georgia. They said they were the only surviving children of their parents, but that doesn't seem possible to me. This family is linked to my ZILPHA (possibly EDEA but went by ZILPHA, child of James Hall) HALL(b.1797-2000) who married ALSEY PACE in Johnston Co NC in 1820. In the 1820 Johnston Co. NC census, an Alsey Pace and a James Hall lived close to one another. Betty Pace -- bapace2@juno.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. IN The 1850 census has several Hall families in Luce township, several of which came from NC. Ancestry.com indicates a number of their births as Iowa which is an error. The census shows birthplace as Ia, which was the abbreviation for Indiana at the time. It looks to me like James M Hall's parents or grandparents are probably the John Hall, 82, b. NC and Mary, 64, b. NC in Luce, Spencer, Indiana on the 1850 census. I would suggest seeing if either of them left a probate record naming heirs. They had a son or grandson Allison, age 18, on the 1850 census, that I think is the Atterson, age 34, that shows up on the 1870 census. That's a 4 year drift in age, but I think it is probably the right one. If he was a sibling to your James M Hall, it would explain their having a son named Atterson. Atterson Hall marriage record - matches the 1860 census Adison Hall Nancy Caroline Axton 14 Dec 1859 Spencer James M Hall Destimony Wilhelm 2 Jul 1854 Spencer William H Hall married Nov 5, 1887 in Spencer County, Malvina or Melvina Evans, she was previously married to Samuel Baker Jan 4, 1882. Now I know that Margaret Ann Hall died in Glasgow, Scotland in 1920. On her death cert it states parents as being Thomas Hall and Mary Ann Hall(M/S McKenna) I have looked for a marriage for these and can not find one. I know that Margaret and John Hall had children in Scotland after moving there after their marriage, but they are not on the 1901 census for England or Scotland........Need to wait a little while longer for the 1911 census but have heard that it may come out early for Scotland. Have any of you got a Mary McKenna who married a Thomas Hall and had a daughter Margaret Ann Hall who went on to marry John Hall in Hebburn, South Shields England. She died in 1920 aged 56 in Glasgow and her son Thomas Hall signed death cert. I have looked for a Margaret Ann dau of Thomas and Mary on the census for both England and Scotland but am unable to find them,......... Children born to Margaret amd John Hall were Margaret, Alice, Thomas, Robert, Annie and John. John left his wife Margaret for her to bring up the children on her own, no-one seems to know what happened to him, not sure if he moved back to England or stayed in Scotland. I have a copy of the marriage that took place in South Shields in 1891 and on it it states as John's father being a Robert Hall and a Samuel Hall being present at the marriage. Also are any of these a link to you or could anyone help out. Many thanks, Angeline xxx Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
