It is my understanding he was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and she was born in Cardiff, Wales. They may have been married in Boston (since that is where my mother, Eileen Francis Hall was born) they eventually settled in New Hampshire where they both passed away in 1988. any information would be appreciated. I did find him in 1850 Rutherford Co., TN and census states that he was born in TN. I believe that he did end up in North Carolina for a little while as I believe that his last two children were born in North Carolina, according to census records. Then, again, we all know how well that we can really depend on census records, but it did have him, his wife, an older child, all born in TN, and, I think, younger two born in NC. Haven't been able to find them in NC as of yet. So far, nothing as to them being from or even going into Kentucky. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Any additional info, such as his approximate birth year, name of his wife, and her birth years and any children born by then would help to spot him. Author: winack27 Surnames: HALL, KUYKENDALL, MITCHELL Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.hall/5454.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My Hall family came to Texas from Abbeville, S.C. in 1838-1840. They were: JAMES N. William Henry John Joseph Isaac Samuel N. Amos George Lucien (all brothers). Their sisters, Mary Ann, Hannah, and Jane and spouses came along also. These siblings were born from 1800 1826 Their father (don`t know his name) had died in S. C. and they brought their mother along to Texas. She was either Rebecca or Elizabeth Hall. After running into some trouble in Texas (Regulator Moderator War) some were killed and some went up river to Ill. I FEEL CERTAIN THAT THEY WOULD NOT HAVE GONE ALL THE WAY TO ILLINOIS WITHOUT HAVING SOME FAMILY THERE. LUCIEN HALL lived in GALLATIN CO, ILL. in 1860 and 1870 and seems to have returned to Tx. after things "cooled down" a bit. His wife was named Henrietta. AMOS Hall setteled in GALLATIN CO. also, but is buried in WHITE CO. at Union Ridge Cemetery, Heralds Prarie Township. He married Susan R. Mitchell of WHITE COUNTY 28 Oct 1856. After his death in June of 1863 Susan married James B. Hanmore. Susan and Amos appear to have had 3 children: Miranda Hall who m. Perry C. Kuykendall; Samuel E. Hall who died at age 20: and Norma Hall who married George F. Newman. Both Norma and Miranda married in White County. This list looks very interesting to me because several years ago, I asked a Hall cousin to take the DNA test and his matches were with KENTUCKY Halls. The only 1880 Census that I have found says that their unknown father Hall was born in Va. I hope this can connect with some of you. Have any of you done a DNA? Many of the Halls in Logan county KY were in White County IL in 1820. My great great grandfather, William M. Hall, was born in IL in 1818, where? I do not know. But he came into Hamilton County in 1842 and married Rebecca Jane Warfield. Their children: James, Nancy Jane, Leonard, William, George Mathias (my line), Mary Artemissa, Charles. My greatgrandmother claimed we were VA Halls and descendents of Lyman Hall. William M. (matthew/mathias) Hall had a sister, Julia Ann/Julie Ann, who married Garret Maulding in Hamilton/Franklin IL in 1838. Her first son was also a James. She listed her father as born in NC. Hope someone has this line. Lynda Lane Miller Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
