In her house, we found a book that belonged to George Lee Hall - it is "The Ordnance Replacement Training Center", Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, September 1952. It looks similar to a high school yearbook. My grandma wrote a note in it, "Received this book January 1953." We are of no relation to any Halls so I'm curious as to why she kept this book. There is additional information written in the book: Mr. George Lee Hall, Bluefield, VA, Route 2 Entered the service August 28, 1952 It sure is good to be home "I love you" is written several times Received while in basic training Doris Mae Hall / George Lee Hall Anyone know this gentleman? Not sure if there is a connection, but my great, great grandfather was Elbert Fonzie Hall.? He was a MO resident at that time and was killed at the Battle of Pilot Knob (MO) on 9-27-1864.? It is my understanding that his family had moved from the Carolina's to MO, but I don't have any specific information to confirm that. She has sent me the emails that you have sent her. It is so good to hear from this side of the family. We have been searching for years for this family. My mother never knew her father and always wished that she would come across him, it was a wish she never got before she died. Her mother never would tell her anything about him. Elaine is not on line that much any more with going to start going through Kemo and Radiation shortly. If you come across any info you can send it to either one of us and we will pass it on to the other. we have figured that with the generations you have told us about you are in our childrens generation. Hall family from Virginia between 1880 and 1884. The wife was Lucinda E. Graham and children included Elizabeth A.,William J.,George T.,James H.,Zachariah R., Earnest, and Josie Malvina (b. 1882). Research (1900 census) shows James married to Molly in 1884 in West Virginia with "Zach" living in the same household. Connection between Zach R. Hall and Josie is documented with Zach's WWI registration where he lists Mrs. Josie M. Cook in Oregon as next of kin. Josie married Robert M. Cook sometime around 1898 to 1900. James K P Hall's father was Andrew J. Hall and his mother was Cynthia (Tincey) Winfrey. Any information would be appreciated.
