    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: xwordz Surnames: Faris, Hall, James. Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.hall/6528.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi James, The post you replied to was from 2001, at which time I believed that Alexander Faris's wife was Jennet Hall. A more capable and determined researcher has shown that Alexander's wife was Janet/Jennet James of DE. The will of John Hall shows that his daughter Jennet did indeed marry a Faris, but did not offer the given name of his son-in-law. Still don't know who that was. I regret posting that piece of disinformation, and wish I could remove it. >From which of Alexander's children do you descend? I descend from his brother, Robert. Justin Sanders. The 1940 census won't be released until 2012. Teddy, Lewis and Annette must have been born after the 1930 census. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: fairlady4 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.hall/10.1.1.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: nhall, Hello. Thank you for the reply and for being so kind. I am not sure if Andrew's middle name was Jackson or not. But it is a good possibility. You see, My grandmother Ethel did NOT marry my grandfather (Philip Fair). Legend has it that she married this Andrew Hall and the children they had were Teddy Hall, Lewis Carroll Hall, Annette Hall and Retha Hall. They are all deceased and this is so important to me. I don't remember much about them. I would like to know where My grandma Ethel is buried? and more about her family. I am only concerned with their children and her family. If you could try to look again, I would appreciate it. Grandma was from Clintwood, Va which is in Dickenson County, Va. The date of her birth would most likely be in the early 1900s. My dad( Curtis P. Fair) was born in 1927. He was nicknamed Cute Hall when they lived in Clintwood. But after reaching adulthood people called him Tony Fair Thanks again for your help Marie Fair Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Some of these related messages tell that story. The McGee family moved around western PA and were in the Mercer/Lawrence County area when they married about 1868. Both families are on Ancestry.com. But your query caught my eye. My gr gr grandfather, William M. Hall, born 1818 IL had a sister Julie Ann or Julieanne or Julia Ann. She was born 1823 and married Garrett Maulding in 1836 in Illinois. She named one of their sons McGee Maulding. Since Julie Ann was a Hall and named a son McGee I thought there might be a connection. Wm. Hall my brick wall was born in 1818 in IL and died about 1872 in IL. He named his children, James, Charles, Leonard, William and George, Nancy Jane, Julie, Minerva, Mary Artemissa, Manerva.
