Does anyone know where I might find a list of the Davidson Co. TN men who were with Andrew Jackson in the Battle of New Orleans? Yazoo Co., MS has a story about three cousins named Hall who were returning with Jackson when they camped in Mississippi, what is now Yazoo, in 1815. They fell in love with the area and returned. Some of the early Hall names were: Lindsey C. Hall, Campbell Hall, Archibald Hall, John C. and John B. Hall, Samuel S. Hall and William Hall. If anyone has any ideas about how to prove who the men were or anyone working on those families, please contact me. Verna Reed verna@carlsbadnm.com

The Hall Bible, Bios, Deeds, Obits, Pens, and Wills boards are ONLY for posting data appropriate to that Board; i.e., Hall Bible records would be posted to the Bible board. These boards are NOT to be used for posting queries and this is stated clearly on these sites. I have been notified of several posts to these boards and all have been queries which I must delete. The URL for posting Hall queries is http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/hal/Hall My apologies for not being clear on this and I hope that those who have posted queries to the wrong boards will repost to the URL above. Thanks, Nel

To the author of the above letter GRANNEEM who is researching for parents of William Hall. Your Hall's took the same route as mine. My roadblock is for the parents of my Gr. Grandfather Merriman Boramon Stevenson (M.B.S.) Hall. He was born in Knox County, OH Dec. 27, 1819. Nothing on obit or anything gives names of parents. On one census record it states parents born in Maryland. Any suggestions would be welcome. I know I have posted before but maybe we have new people on line. My Hall's have William Hall, Thomas Robert Hall and more. Would like to connect and find more lost cousins. My Thomas Robert Hall's dad left Ohio after his first wife died after giving him two living children. He was first married in Knox County, Ohio to Mary Ann Ross in abt. 1843. Have records to that effect. Not sure when she died but on obit, it states after the death of Mary Ann Ross, he removed to Iowa where he married Alcinda Hedges, my Gr Grandmother, mother of my Grandpa Thomas Robert (T.T.) Hall. Have many generations of Hedges, and Mary Ann Ross parents and Grandparents were Ross and McNitt and other. Any matchup. I always share what I have. Have found a couple of cousins on this list. Hope to hear from them again. God Bless you all and good luck in your search. Barbara Bay Dewing in MO, from Oklahoma
