John; Another good Hall Genealogy book has been published by Charles W. Hall. It begins with John Hall, Sr., who emigrated from Wales, England, to Baltimore, MD., in 1720. Two of his sons, Thomas & Joshua, migrated to KY. Volume I contains information on over 1,500 descendants. Volume II contains information on collateral lines of ABBOTT, HANDY, MILBY & WHEAT, along with interesting articles and many photos. Both volumes are sold together and not separately for $72.90 which includes P & H. For further information, contact Charley at <cwharp@juno.com>.

Fellow researchers, The time has come to get real serious about my g-grandmother. The family has finally gotten the go-ahead on her husbands headstone (CSA Veteran) and we would like to erect one next to his in memory of her. Here's what I know so far: Mary Jane MARTIN b. about 1838/1839 in AR married 13 Nov 1862 to John R (Jack) HALL b. 1830 in SC They had six children: Major Temple, Johanna Christine, Oscar Murray, Harley Lucian (Twin), Hardy Houston (twin), and James Darrell. The most important date for me right now is her death date. I found her on the 1900 AR census (with my grandparents); she filed a CSA widows pension in 1901; and does NOT appear on the 1910 census. Logic would tell me she died somewhere between May of 1901 and 1910. I need a death certificate or something like that. Can anyone help me? Thank you and best regards, Sherry Hall SuperNana8@aol.com

I am trying to locate information about a Hiel Hall, bn Ct, possibly to a Diadema Remington. They had two children I know of, e.g. William Mortimer Hall, b. 1836, Lorraine, Yates Co., NY and a Diana Hall. That's all the information I have to go on. I do not know where he died and was buried. I suspect Lorraine, NY but not sure. William Mortimer Hall married Caroline Adams in Oswego Co., NY in 1860. I do not know if Hiel moved to Oswego or continued to live in Lorraine. Any information anyone might have would be appreciated. Joyce Lien Orlando

Charles, Have you seen the book, "Halls of America" by Charles H. Hall and his sister Virginia Hall Hancock? He traces the line of Robert Hall and extended families from earliest times to the 1990's from VA to Kentucky and wherever they went. I have no interest in the book, but purchased it and found it a big help in separating the Robert Hall and Instant Hall families who were friends and neighbors in VA . His e-mail is DoodleH@aol.com . The book is $15.00 plus postage and I consider it to be well documented. If he doesn't respond to your e-mail and you are interested, let me know and I'll send you his address. He is 82 yrs. young.
