    3. I know this is not Genealogical,,,,but everyone might look at this 2 sites,,,I downloaded one of them and and downloaded the other site for my brother and sister's that has never even had service before,,now they may get to discuss family because they have never been able to afford the internet...These two sites are completely free internet sites,,and they have the same browser that I have now. one is: http://www.bluelight.com and the other one is: http://www.freei.net ,,,you might be able to tell or help your family like I did if they have never tried the internet out before,,,both of these sites offer free internet with no strings attached. 3. Hi Everyone, I am new to the list and am in search of any help or suggestions that anyone might have. My brick wall is my gr.gr.grandmother Amanda Hopkins Hall. Her death certificate states that she was born in KY 15 January 1830 but has no other information other than death date 5 February 1898 in Elbow Lake MN and the cause of death. It does not list parents or location in KY where she was born. I also know that she was married in Warrensburg, Johnson Co, MO, 22 December 1847 to my gr.gr.grandfather, Richard Hargrove McMahan. Do any of you have any information on a Hall family with a daughter Amanda who fits in this time frame? Who were her parents & siblings, where in Ky was she born? I have been searching for about 12 years now but seem only to find deadends. Thank you in advance for any suggestions. Respectfully, Shirley T

    1. KENNETH "COTTON" HALL
    2. Folks, Nancy Blevins Johnson was kind enough to cut out an obit and post some of the info on the list. Since I have a Kenneth in the same generation, I thought perhaps it was mine. She very generously sent the obit to me. I would like to return the favor by sending it to a descendant or relative of Kenneth's. He was the son of Maurice E. HALL and Carmen J. GOSNEY. Kenneth was born in 1931 in Hutchison Co., TX. Please let me know your name and address if you would like to have it sent to you. The first one to respond will be the recipient. Gerre Byrd

    3. I have not posted to this list in a long time so hopefully they are some new people out there that may be able to help me. I have been searching for over 20 years for the parents of Augustus "Gus" Hall born in Lee County VA. in 1852 or 1858 not sure which. His parents lived in the Letcher County area at one time. His father was supposed to have been from Greenup County and his mother from Carter County. He married Evaline Morefield from Breathitt County in 1879 in Menifee County. They, or at least Evaline may have been living in Wayne County W.VA. in the early 1900's. They had 6 children: Emma who may have been a daughter of Evaline's by a previous marriage, John Edward my grandfather, David Frank, Sarah Ellen,William H. "Willie", James Roy. Evaline died in Rowan County in 1942, and Augustus may have died there also but, there is no death certificate for him recorded in KY. Any help any can give no matter how small would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Kenneth Hall kenhall@kenhall.com

    2. The obit below gives me enough information to wonder if this is not the son of Walter Eugene HALL who married Addie COOK. There are several clues indicating Kenneth belongs in my HALL database, including the "Kilpatrick-Hall". My great grandfather was Amos Kilpatrick Hall and was the father of Walter Eugene HALL. Anybody know more? Are my "cousins" reading this? Thank you, Nancy, for posting this. 3. I received this from another list and decided I would pass it on to you all. Debbie œœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœœ Twas The Day Before Yesterday     TWAS the day before yesterday and all through the branches, NOT a name to be found, none of my ancestors.     THE Journals and Bibles were dusty and worn, WHY should we care, these kinfolk are gone.     THE pictures of children and family, long ago dead, ARE scattered, crinkled, and crammed under beds.     DAD in his chair, and I with a book,     HAD just settled back to give the TV a look.     WHEN out on the street there arose such a clatter, I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.     ON the way to the window I tripped with a crash, I tore open the curtains and looked through the glass.     THE sun in the sky was nowhere in sight, THE clouds were so gray, it could have been night.     WHEN what to my wondering eyes should appear, THE Mailman with packages, letters and cards of good cheer.     THE driver was grumbling while sorting his letters, I knew in a moment, things had to get better.     THE size of one letter stood out from them all, A distant cousin was asking about family, one and all.     THE names of Grandpa and Grandma, Great Grandparents all, NEXT came my Father, my Brother, and Uncle Paul.     FROM cousins and uncles to aunts and nephews, NIECES and in-laws, just to name a few.     SO through the many journals and photos, and stuff I possessed, MY search for my ancestors slowly progressed.     WHILE up the family tree I gradually climbed, MY ancestors names, I was seeking to find.     UPON that tree I have carved many a name, THE branches of which, will never be the same.     THE tree is now filled with many I've found, BUT in the search for others, now I am bound.     THE ancestors whose names, I have written with love, THE Lord has gathered to take to His Father above.     WITH so many names yet to be carved on that tree, I have little time to waste on games and TV.     GATHERING names, photos, histories and places, REQUIRES a lot of love, patience, and God's good graces.     SOME were Farmers, Soldiers and such, Mothers and Fathers             who struggled much.     SOME were Settlers, who traveled far, some Adventures,             who followed the stars.     SOME were rich but most were poor, they came by ship,             seeking more.     SOME died young, others old, many their stories yet untold.     I cried when I thought of those brothers and sisters, FOR I am who I am, thanks to my ancestors.     MY family is but one branch on the Tree of Life, A tree that grew strong through toil and strife.     ALONE, I'm just a bare twig or a stub,   TOGETHER we build a Family Tree of Love (Written by Linnie Vanderford Poyneer one night after a long day of research)
