    1. New Info on VA/KY& now MD connections
    2. After reading the posting RE Bedford Co,VA I did some more digging and found (NOTHING PROVEN) what may be my Mahlon's father and grandfather. This is an LDS file the only thing I have proven is noted below. Wanted to pass it on and see if anyone had any information about the Hall's from Maryland & Virginia. Thanks Barbara Guinn 1. Leonard HALL was born about 1730 in Maryland and died in 1809 in Barren County, Kentucky1. This information came from an LDS file. I did find a Leonard Hall listed on the 1800 Barren County, Kentucky tax list.2 Leonard married Joanna LYTTON about 1750 in Maryland1. (Joanna LYTTON was born on July 7, 1732 in Prince George County, Maryland and died after 1820 in Barren County, Kentucky1.) They had the following children: 2 F i. Grace HALL was born about 1751 in Frederick County, Maryland. 3 F ii. Elizabeth HALL was born about 1754 in Frederick County, Maryland. 4 M iii. William HALL was born in 1756 in Frederick County, Maryland, died on February 11, 1811 in Powell County, Kentucky and was buried in Hanks Cemetery, Powell County, Kentucky1. + 5 M iv. Caleb HALL was born about 1758 in Frederick County, Maryland1 and died about 1830 in Bourbon County, Kentucky2 6 M v. Henry HALL was born about 1760 in Frederick County, Maryland. 7 F vi. Johanna HALL was born about 1764 in Frederick County, Maryland1. 8 F vii. Sarah HALL was born about 1764 in Bedford, Virginia. 9 M viii. Leonard HALL was born about 1767 in Bedford, Virginia and died on May 13, 1809 in Barren County, Kentucky1. 10 F ix. Ruth HALL was born about 1768 in Bedford, Virginia. 11 F x. Prudence HALL was born about 1771 in Bedford, Virginia. 12 F xi. Naomi HALL was born about 1772 in Bedford, Virginia. 13 M xii. Mahlon HALL was born about 1773 in Bedford, Virginia. Second Generation (Children) 5. Caleb HALL (Leonard1) was born about 1758 in Frederick County, Maryland1 and died about 1830 in Bourbon County, Kentucky2. I found an IGA file that shows Caleb was the son of Leonard and Joanna [Lytton] Hall, this has not been proven by me. Until further proof can be found I am listing this family group as found on the original records. 1790 Federal Census, Reconstructed for Kentucky. This is first record I have found on Caleb. The following Hall's are listed in Bourbon County page 42 for 1791: Aron, Caleb and William. 1800 Bourbon County, Kentucky Census - There are 13 Hall's listed Caleb and Mahlon are both listed, Mahlon would have been 23 and married. 1810 Bourbon County, Kentucky Census - There are 16 Hall's listed. Page 91 Adam 45+, Frances 45+ & Lawrence 45+ Philip, Robert & Robert 26/45 Page 88 the only Hall listed were: Caleb +45 1son 16/26 1 daughter 16/26 wife +45 and 9 slaves. Mahlon +45 1 son under 5 wife 45+ daughters 2 10/16, 4 16/20 Note: This does not seem to be Caleb's son Mahlon in 1810 he and wife's age abt 33. He had 7 sons all born before 1810 and all known daughter born after 1810. Need to look at the actual census records this information came from Family Tree Online. 1820 Bourbon County, Kentucky Census - There are 16 Hall's listed Page 82 Caleb, Darius [son of Mahlon] Page 86 Jacob, Mahlon [son of Caleb] 1830 Bourbon County, Kentucky Census - There are 18 Hall's listed Page 333 Caleb and Mahlon [I know that Mahlon moved his family to DeWitt County, Illinois by the fall of 1830] I have not found a will for Caleb and I do not know if this is actually he. Caleb married Elizabeth MASTIN on May 11, 1776 in Bedford, Virginia1. (Elizabeth MASTIN was born before 1762 in Bedford, Virginia.) They had the following children: + 14 M i. Mahlon HALL 3 was born on March 3, 1777 in Bedford, Virginia, died in 1856 in DeWitt County, Illinois and was buried in Hall Cemetery There may be more children this is the only one I have information on and he is my direct line.

    1. Re: #2 EMAIL HALL INFORMATION
    2. I just found out your are talking about my Hall line, not my direct line but I am sure this branch is a brother to my direct line. Yesterday I posted my Hall information to the list Subject: VA/KY/IL Hall's. I have my Hall's back to Mahlon (1777-1856) he was married 3 times and had 12 known children (all proven) he moved his family to DeWitt Co IL by 1829. What I am trying to find his father. Do you have any information or record of all the brother's names? I checked out my site find and found that Powell Co., KY was formed in 1852 out of Montgomery Co, KY this is 30 miles (as the crow flies) from where my Hall's lived in Bourbon. I also know from family history that my Mahlon was born in VA and moved with his parent when he was quite young. He also was a wealthy land owner, I believe his father may have been Caleb and on the 1810 census he was listed as owning 9 slaves. The 1800 Bourbon Co census list 13 Hall's Montgomery Co 2 Hall's Aaron & William Some of your email messages were not posted (as you stated) but several are still missing. In your message #6 THIS IS A BROTHER TO MY DIRECT LINE. Any additional information would be gratefully appreciated, Thanks for the posting Barbara Guinn Katy, TX

    1. TRY AGAIN
    2. Try this again to see if you can find cemetery online that your ancestors might be buried in. I don't know what happened earlier but it is working correctly now. <a href="http://www.interment.net>Click Here</a> Go to left had column and click on United States and then find state you are looking in and it should be self explanatory from there. Sorry about the problem earlier. As I said, I have no idea about the wrong webpage or mixup. ~DEBBIE~

    3. My GG-Grandfather, Aaron Hall was born in Richmond, Ashtabulah Co., Ohio in somewhere around 1829. He died In March, of 1865 while serving in the Civil War. He married Emeline Crockett in 1851 and fathered 4 children. I thought I'd throw out my brick wall and just maybe someone know of him..................... 3. G'day from Down Under, I was amazed at how many messages had been posted on the list when I checked my mail over the weekend. (I had 72). It shows what can happen when someone "stirs the pot". It is great to be part of such an active list. I have sorted out my Hall side of the family in Australia and have trace it back to a Maurice Hall who was born about 1832 in Shoreham, England. This may be Shoreham, Kent or Shoreham On Sea, Sussex. His Australian marriage certificate states that his father was Richard Hall (occupation Baker) and his mother was Caroline Walker. Maurice was a widower with five living children at the time of this marriage. If there are any list members living in this part of England who could do a look-up for me I would be most grateful. Keep up the postings. It is interesting to see what my US and Canadian cousins are up to. I also had difficulty getting information from my father as his grandparents were named Grandma and Grandpa. Be at ONE with the Universe! Brian Hall
