I don't have any dates for Silva. It is said her father was Peter John Hall. Simeon and Silva removed from R.I. and went to Blanford, MA, but they might have returned. It appears that their son Simeon Jr., who is my gr-gr-grandfather, either did not go or returned also. There was a family upset when Simeon Sr. died. He left property and a home to Simeon Jr. and Abigail with the stipulation that when they died it would go to their youngest daughter, Abby Frances Clarke Sisson. Simeon Jr's brother Henry, who was from Blanford MA, brought suit. There is a document at Charleston, R.I. which divides the property in fifths with 1/5 going to Abigail Reynolds Clark, Simeon Jr.'s widow, and fifths to each of the brothers. Any comments would be appreciated. The article also names Abigail and all her children. Arlene Clarke Haddock Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Asa HALL b.1848, SC is the son of John HALL b.1813, SC and is listed in the 1850 census of Anderson Co, SC. Asa and Augusta had no children. I am interested in Gilbert CARSON b.1855, MS; who is in the hh of Asa and Augusta A. HALL in the 1900, 1920, and 1930 censuses of Diamond Hill Township, Abbeville Co, SC. He is evidently a hired hand, but this seems a long time for a hired hand to be in the family. I descend from the brother of Gilbert CARSON -- Elbert Hillard CARSON. Elbert Hillard CARSON moved from MS to TX. A letter written by Mrs. Sevier Wilson, Iva, S.C to the family in TX in 1937 indicated that Gilbert CARSON had died and was buried in the Hall family plot at the First Baptist Church. Is this the First Baptist Church of Iva? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Re: Descendants of John HALL and Jeanne/Jane WOOLEN (Jhall) >From what I've recently read on the web, the John Hall who married Jeanne/Jane Woolen originally lived in Hartford for a few years and then New Haven and Wallingford. Another, older, John Hall also lived concurrently in Hartford. That John Hall married Mary Wilcox (most likely the daughter of his neighbor, John "Wilcocke", in Hartford). He moved to Middletown, CT in 1650 where his family prospered. I thought I'd try to sort out these two families, as they crisscross each other a bit and were both early contributors to the history of Connecticut. My data came in part from these websites: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Pointe/6265/john_hall.htm http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jdevlin/bios/hall.htm The info about the exploration party that John Hall of New Haven and Wallingford took part in is primarily from the histories of Dorchester, MA and from the will and history of Samuel Hall: "Samuel Hall, the testator, came to New England about 1633. In that year he, with John Oldham and another person, set out on an exploring expedition and went as far as the Connecticut River. They returned January 20, 1633-4, having endured much misery." There were actually other "persons", including the famed and notorious trader, John Oldham, and John Hall. This John Hall seems to be the one who settled in Hartford and then Middletown eventually. Alfred J. HALL, born 1858 in Indiana, possibly Dearborn, son of Thomas Chapman Hall, b. 1825, and Mary Beggs (or Briggs). Alfred married (1) Minnie PENCE; (2) Elizabeth EWBANK. He died in Brooktondale, Tompkins Co., NY in 1939. Parents of Thomas Chapman HALL were Joseph Hall b. 1792, place unknown, and Frances EWBANK, born 1798 in Yorkshire, England. I am hoping that someone has information about the following family. Edwin HALL was born 1811 in New Hampshire and married Sabrina BURBANK who was born abt 1812 also in New Hampshire. In 1850 the family was found in Kendall, Orleans County, New York where Edwin was listed as being a shoemaker. They had these two children Edwin HALL b abt 1848 in NY and Auethe HALL b abt 1850 also in NY. I don't think that her name is correct but that is what I saw in the 1850 census. I have never found any of them again after 1850 and I am hoping someone knows about them or can help me as where to look. Thank you, Nana (NAY-na) Redell
