Hello, Vickye White has received some documents from the NC archives regarding the Hadley family. She and I are both from the Thomas and Mary Thompson Hadly line. The search was for Thomas Hadly, but the listing from the CCMM has 2 pages of Hadly listings that contain far more than our direct line. As I cannot send attachments to this list, please write me if you would like a copy. There are also about 8 other documents, mostly from the NC Militia, Wilmington unit. These are back pay vouchers for service and also one where Capt Thomas Hadly sold corn and rice to the revolutionaries. Some of the CCMM listings are interesting as they list the dates where the sons and daughters were disowned for marrying out of meeting. I have compared these dates with what we have listed in the HS volumes. Some match closely, others are a few years off. I have always been suspicious of some of the dates listed for this branch of the family. While the date of their disownment is likely not the precise date of the marriage, it does give some reference point. Also, many of the dates listed in the HS volumes unfortunately are not supported by any documents. ThisCCMM list at least gives us some additional documentation.
