My great uncle was born Joseph Henry Hadley, ca 1885 in London England, His father was John Emmett HADLEY and his mother was Emma Charlotte FARMER. He had three surviving sisters, Florence, Emma and Ethel. He was known within the family as Tim. He served in the British Army during the first world war, apparently deserted, and rejoined under the name SCOTT, which was his wife's surname. He died of the effects of being gassed in France I have his obituary from the Kentish Times, Mar 1929 which is under the name Joseph Henry SCOTT. I have his death records, but can't find a birth certificate. I have tried through professional research servces, but they say they can't find him. Any suggestions as to what to do next?
