Jean Hadley wrote to me about the CD today. It is a work in progress. We made our first effort one year ago at the last HS annual reunion. This is an improved version, and Jean will be bringing some copies to this year's reunion in late September. We will inspect and approve the production of some amount of CDs. Jean suggests that we add a page to the web site describing the contents of the Cds and ordering instructions, etc. Price is one matter that needs to be discussed and agreed upon in September. Several members of this list have written me directly and asked about it. I will say that it would be helpful if any of you that would want this Cd to let us know in advance. We are pleased to finally have all of this material in a good format on CD. One goal of getting these Cds out is to be of great service in the ongoing updating of our family tree. We do not publish any names of family members born after 1905 on the internet data base. So it is impossible for anyone reading it to know what the HS has recorded for all of us from the 20th and now 21st centuries. We need to add all of the current generations, and by having the CD, you can see what is listed for your families, as well as other current Hadley families. Errors and omissions can be updated and corrected. We often are so engrossed in our roots that we forget to take care of the "new growth" in our tree. So it is our hope that Hadley families will get a copy of the CD and update and correct the information. We will likely issue updated versions every few years, and offer an upgrade package for cheap for those who have the earlier models. Any suggestions appreciated. John Hadley PS One idea is to donate some Cds to various libraries in areas where Hadley families settled and still live.
