Passed on 31 May 1783 from Orange Co.NC. Buried in Cane Creek Cemetery--Quaker and Founding Member of Cane Creek MM,NC, remarried to John Stanfield after Thomas death, CHILDREN: Simon, Rebecca, and Ruth with Thomas, and John, Samuel, and Thomas with John. 590. Thomas DIXON, b.1705 in Chester Co. PA. He married Hannah Hadley 25 Oct 1727 at New Garden MM, Chester Co. PA. Passed on to heaven in 1735 at about age 29 from Chester Co. PA--Quaker, probably Farmer, died of smallpox, Buried in New Garden MM, Chester Co. PA 1182. Simon HADLEY Jr., b. ca. 1675 in Moate, Co. Westmeath, Ireland. He married a widow, Ruth Miller Keran ca. 1697 in Ireland. Passed on to heaven May 1756 from Chester Co. PA-- they came to America abt 1712 to settle in New Castle Co. DE, received at Newark MM,DE on 4 6M 1716 on certificate from Moate Mtg, County of West Meath, Ireland; (data per A C Myers)in 1717 he built a big stone house,barn,and outbuildings on his DE Plantation, Farmer, his 2nd wife that he married after Ruths death was Phebe Grubb Buffington; traditional stories say that he was murdered by a servant in his barn for the gold he had on his person 1183. Ruth MILLER Keran, b. Feb 1677 in the County of West Meath, Ireland. She was the widow of Mr. Keran when Simon married her. Passed on to heaven 18 12M 1750,CHILDREN: Joseph, Deborah, Joshua, Simon, Hannah,Ruth, Catherine, and Anne 2364. Simon HADLEY, Sr., b. ca 1640 in Ireland we believe. He married Catherine Talbot in Ireland. Passed on ca. 1711 according to a record in the Office of Arms, Dublin Castle--he petitioned Parliament in abt 1680 for protection against possible confiscation of his Ireland property should the area be forfeited to the crown as was threatened, owned a Fishery in Dublin and iron foundry in Kings County, Joined the Society of Friends and apologized to Moate M.M. for his son, Simons military activities, later disowned for marrying out of unity to Elizabeth after Catherines death 2365. Catherine TALBOT, b. abt 1643 probably in Ireland. Passed on 20 Jun 1710-- Good Mother of CHILDREN: Solomon, John, Simon, Elizabeth, and Jane 4728. James HADLEY, b.1614 in Dublin, Ireland.
