Hello Hadley hunters, Gertrude was my maternal Grandmother. Her marriage certificate suggests that she was born in 1877, her Death cert. suggests 1879. On Christmas day 1896, in the City of London, Gertrude married George Horace Titmas, and her Father was named as John. So far I have been unable to find Gertrude's Birth cert., and therefor I do not know her Mother's name. She had at least one sister, Maud. My family think that John Hadley was in the Army, served in India, at one time was stationed at Colchester, Essex, and that he was in an Irish regiment. I have found the Army records of a John Hadley that meets all this criteria, but I cannot be sure that he is the correct John. This John even returned from India to the UK in 1876, and married in February 1878! But without that Birth certificate...........! (I have searched for births at sea and in Army records and the family does not appear in the 1881 Census) Any help or possible connections will be gratefully received. Kind regards Peter
