In the searching of your Hadley family of the Langley, Oldbury area have you ever come upon a George Hughes Hadley? He married, I believe, Elizabeth Hodgetts circa 1872, daughter of Charles Hodgetts and Lydia Underhill.
Here's some information I have gathered which I would like to share, for those who might have a connection: Abram Hadley (born in Herkimer Co, NY 20 October 1808) married Jemima Townsend (born March 1832) went to Mexico, Oswego Co, NY about 1833. He had a farm on the Tubbs Road (about 2 miles from village). He died 28 August 1894, age 85. Jemima Townsend died 14 June 1878, age 66 ("in this village" according to death notice). The 1855 census lists a daughter Elizabeth (age 20) and a son George (age 12), born in Oswego County, NY. In the 1880 census for Town of Mexico, Abram Hadley, age 72, in found living in the household of Harmon Halsey, age 70. His relationship is "other". Jemima is the daughter of Stephen Townsend (son of Isaac, son of Daniel, son of Robert). Abram is the son of William Hadley, son of Abraham Hadley of MA. Hope this helps someone. Lucy

Robert: Joseph L. Hadley was the son of Simon Hadley and Alsa/Alce Walker. You will find information at http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=hadbase Use the search engine to go directly to Joseph, typing the last name first, then the first name with middle initial. Joseph was the brother of my ancestor Isaac Riley Hadley (1829, IN -1911, MO). I will be happy to share information with you and I am sure the Hadley Society would like to have your data, too. My ggreat-grandfather, Joseph R. HADLEY, was a doctor in Salt Lake City, where , married to Sarah Biddle (daughter of William BIDDLE), a son, Benjamin Forrest Hadley, was born in 3/25/1876. Benjamin later married Edna Antrim of Arlington, Nebraska and my grandmother, Edna Grace HADLEY was born 4/15/1903 in Arlington, Nebraska. Edna Antrim died sometime after her daughter's birth and Benjamin later married Stella MILLION and had two daughters by her and later moved to Los Angeles, CA. If any of these names sound familiar, please contact me. This is my brick wall.
