James is a brother to my gr. gr. grandfather Lewis Davis/Haddix m. to Eliza Ketchum. Mary Howard the wife of James Polk is a sister to my gr. gr. grandmother Susan Howard that m. Nelson Salyers. Info I know about James' mother given name: Sophorina/Sophia aka Suffy surname: Davis or she was m. to a Davis marriage: she marrried Samuel B. Haddix after 1839 if they ever married Searching the Breathitt Co. census records, marriage records and court records I find Suffy as a Davis and some of her children use the Davis surname on some records Samuel was first married to a lady with the given name of Mary and I think he married her in 1828 in Perry Co., KY I can not find anything proving that Suffy was a Miller as many researchers use. [I used the Miller info for years, but it just does not fit] Thank you for any info. Judy
