Wife #1 buried in richland cemetary, johnstown pa. Can anyone give info on moses and virginia matthews haddix? or info on rotha and john haddix? west va or john and edith haddix? pa

Most of the information I have, I found when I went to WV, not on the web. By the way after going through my notes, I found 2 other children of George's. Elizabeth b. 2-18-1887 and Jessie b. 6-1-1884. And after talking to my mother, it wasn't George's house I was at, but his cousin's, Icie. I wish I had more to offer you, but finding information on this side of my family, hasn't been easy, but I am going back to WV to do some more research. Sarah

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AIh.2ACIB/101.1.1.1 Message Board Post: sara, what you found on the web is correct. george haddix was my greatgrandfather. daisey and marshall had alot of kids and my dad was one of them, i never got to meet my dad before he died, so therefore i was trying to see if i could find some more ancestors in the family. i never went to george's house because i didnt know any of them. do you happen to have any pictures of the haddix families? if you do i would like to have a copy of them. just about all the kids of daisey and marshall have died, i have pictures of them and some of their children. i was searching for my dad on here when i found that i had a real half brother and then i started looking for him, i found a first cousin on here and he found my brother for me then in the mean time my first cousin was looking for his brother and within 5 days my brother found his brother. isnt that amazing? if you find anymore info please let me know. thank you for your reply kathy

Daisey was the Daughter of George and Rachel F. Haddox (Haddix). George was the son of Issac Haddox, who was the son of Adam Haddox. My great great grandfather, John Haddox was the brother of Isaac. I looked on the web and found that Daisey married Joseph Marshall Lake who was the son of Marshall and Virginia Lake. When you research the Haddix line, you have to use Haddox also. I guess it was according to who was spelling it, or how they pronounced it at the time. Orginally the name was spelled Haddock in England. I wish I could tell you more. Do you remember visiting or going to George's house? If my memory serves me right, I was there when I was a little girl. Sarah

John Foy was from MD. He supposedly married Barbara 2 April 1816. As of 1850 he and Barbara had 2 children, Margaret born 24 Aug. 1824 in Lewis Co. and a son David b. ~ 1831. The man Catherine married was Salathiel George Goff. Do you think Susannah remarried? I can find nothing more on her with the name of Haddix or Foy.

I have about given up on the Haddix/Haddox line. I am from John FOY (b. 1770) who married Susannah HADDIX and had a daughter born 1801-04 named Catherine and maybe a son Daniel. Have no clue who Susannah's parents were. John FOY lived in Barbour Co. in 1850 and the daughter married Salathiel GOFF in Harrison Co. in 1819. John had apparently parted ways with Susannah early on because he mentions in his will she is to get nothing (nor her children) and he has a wife who appears to be "common law" named Barbara CRITES. Anyone recognize these people???

I think we need to stir the pot up. Where are all the WV Haddix decendants? Surely there are more than just a couple of people researching their family lines. I will start out with my line, and maybe we can get a few more people to list their families. Even if you don't know a lot about your line, maybe someone else does. Here is my line: Sarah Finley Haddix b. 1874 in Taylor Co. married James Arlington Morgan b. 1876 in Marion Co. Sarah had 2 sisters, Rosa and Elizabeth and one brother John B. Haddix b. 1872. Their parents names were John Isaac Haddix Jr. (called Isaac) b. 1846, and his wife Sarah (Sally) Bailey b. 1842. Isaac was the son of John Haddix b. ~1820 and Elizabeth Reed. Maybe you are not connected to my immediate family, but I have met several Haddix decendants who do not live in WV, but are trying to find connections and finding nothing but brick walls. Let's see if we can tear down a few walls.

Mary is listed as age 28 (so your birth date is probably right). Elam is listed as 35. Children: Cathern age 11, Allen age 9, Martha age 7, William H. age 5, and James P. age 3. The child you listed could have been born after this time. They lived in Pleasant, Barbour Co. WV. It was the only Farrance with a first name starting with E that I could find.

John Luther Haddix was the son of Moses Haddix born 7-29-1851 in Barbour Co. WV. His wife was listed as Virginia Mathews. Moses married the second time to a Isora Belle Guthie-Skiles. He married the third time to an unknown. Moses was the son of David Haddox and Elizabeth Standsberry. I was just in Taylor Co. and found a daughter born to John and Rotha named Mildred born 4-30-1909. Hope this helps.
