Dear list, Has anyone had problems with the company called RESEARCH UK for getting Birth, Marriage or Death certificates. There has been a problem with this company taking more money then it should between the dates of 26th February 2005 and 1st March 2005. Alys & her husband, Philip Haddox had Victor Gilmore Haddox born 19 July 1929 and a John Philip Haddox born 4 Nov 1930. I am currently working on our family history and saw the family tree on Ancestry.com for Alys Winfred Gilmore born on 1 Jan 1901 in Moline, Rock Island Co, IL. I am not sure if you are researching this ancestry line but Alys' father, William Wallace Gilmore was a brother of my great, great grandfather David Smith Gilmore. My great aunt was doing family research in the early 1950's and has traced our ancestry back a few generations beyond William Wallace Gilmore. She compiled a booklet of many of our ancestry. Married Bernard Talkington. They had the following children together: James ( some call him Holly, or Ed, or Jim), Clifton, Roger, ( who is my father) , Jerry, Robert, Lillian (married to Swiger), Shirley (married to Swiger), and Alice ( married to Smith). However, Ruth gave birth to 4 children before the above mentioned, Their names are: Johnny ( tragically he and wife, and 3 children died in a house fire around 1968) , Birtha, James ( lived in canton, ohio and past away around 1985) and finally Mabel. These 4 children have the last name of Haddix (haddox). i havent been able to verify that Ruth's maiden name was Haddox, or was she married to a Haddox before Talkington. When she married Talkington she would have been about 38, at least by her birth date which was 1 Apr 1913 according to social security records. I found a John Haddox born about a year before her. Since she married ~ 1951 you might contact the county she lived in and ask about divorce records for her.

Her married name was Clare Ruth Talkington ... married to Bernard Talkington.( Bernard had 5 brothers and one sister to my knowledge) -- Mae, Clifton, Curwood, Ira, Donald, and Paul. Bernard's mothers was Born Lillian Flowers and father was Everett Talkington. However, I cannot find any Everett Talkington in the SSDI. Bernard and Clare ( or Ruth) had several children. Clifton, Roger (who is my father), Jerry, Robert,Ed ( some call him Jim or Holly), Alice, Lillian, and Shirley. However, Clare ( or Ruth) had 4 Children before all of the above mentioned.They are : Johnny Haddox, Mabel, James,Birtha . My great grandfather was Floyd Ercel Haddix (1893-1990) his parents were James Wesley Haddix and Cora Lee Shelton of Taylor County or Randolph County, WV. (I think James' parents were David Haddix and Elizabeth Stansbury) Ercel wrote down a family list that included a first marriage of James but I do not know who. They had three kids, John Haddix, Alonzo Haddix, and Ella Haddix. James remarried Cora Lee Shelton and had at least 12 other kids. Floyd Ercel, Harry Raymond, Christina "Kathleene" Matilda, Ross Richmond, Goldie (died at birth), Jimmy (died as an infant), Claude Russell, Minnie Estalla, Hattie Idella (died as an infant), Percy Lee, Comeil Marie, and Queeny (Quincy). Floyd "Ercel" Haddix married Rue "Willa" Scott of Randolph County, WV in 1916. I believe they had 6 kids Rhea Vonda (my grandmother), Shirley, Themla, Russell, Vada, and Roy.
