Author: sandee568 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.haddix/40.41.42.43.44.45.47/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello Donna, looks like we are searching for the same family. My Great grandmother was Sarah Haddix. She married James Hanson.I have searched until i get blue in the face and this is as close as i can get.Looking at the census for 1870 i find Sarah and James married and around them are John Haddix,Solomon Haddix, and Elizabeth Haddix, who i think was Williams wife,or it could be their sister. All of the Haddix are from Ohio.I also found on the 1850 census a Lady by the name of Christena who i believe was married to Samuel Haddix. They both are from Va.I am trying to tie all of them together.I do have the birth dates.I am going by the assumption the Haddix's i am looking at all went to Illinois from Ohio, but that the parents are from Va.Hopefully i will find that connection. The names i have so far are William ,David,Solomon,Enoch,Sarah, and Alfred.I have a gap in ages so i am pretty sure i am missing one.Anything sound familiar? I need some help and maybe y'all know something about these people.I have found on the 1870 Illinois census my Great Grandmother Sarah Haddix Hanson. Her Husband's name was James Allen Hanson, they were married in 10-24-1854 in Clark co. ill.She was born around 1836ish.On the census it states she is 34.She had 7 children William 1857,Mary 1861,Samuel 1864,Margaret(Maggie) 1867,John 1870,Daniel 1874,James 1878.Also on the same census same page right above her was a Samuel Haddix wife Angeline. On the next page was John Haddix no wife but had children listed.Right below that is the name of Elizabeth Haddix without a husband name but she had children. When i looked back on the 1860 census i found where Elizabeth was married to a Solomon Haddix.Samuel was 47,John was 40,Solomon was 34(on the 1860 census)The one thing i am thinking of is that Sarah was their sister.Would anyone know anything about them? 3. I am sorry I can not find her name among my Haddix's but 1966 for a birth is going to be hard to find as she wouldn't be listed in the census yet. By any chance do you know her parents names? Or maybe David's parents? Then we could maybe check census or maybe figure out their lines back.
