Donna, My maternal Grandmother was a Haddix. She was born in 1902 in Walnut Prairie Ill. Her Father's name was Ulysses S. Grant Haddix and her Mother's name was Mary Mae Ladd. Ulysses' Fathers name was Samuel. My Grandma later moved to Indianapolis and married my Grandfather , Webster Risher. I am going to be traveling through Illinois in about 3 weeks and would like to know exactly where Walnut Prairie is? I would appreciate it if you could email me. He left a will in Barbour VA/WV in 1853 mentioning a wife, the former Susanna HADDIX, who had left his bed and board many years ago. He left nothing to her two children. Who were these two children? Was one of the children Catherine (daughter of a John FOY) who married in Harrison VA/WV in 1819? John later "marries", even though he is not divorced, Barbara CRITZ/CRITES. Her children received his estate.

I need help finding resources for marriage information in Wolfe Co., KY. My grandparents--Wm. H. VEST and Ellie/Alice HADDIX-- were married October 7, 1891 but the courthouse burned in 1913. Therefore, no marriage records exist there. The State of Kentucky does not keep records from that far back. Would anyone know of any churches that might have any records from 1891?
