My great grandfather, Charles (George Carl) HAAS, entered New York City in 1853. Census records say he was from Baden, Germany. He married Adolphine BURKHARDT in June 1854. Charles' parents were Frank and Theresa HAAS. Charles was b. 1831. Children were: John b.1855 Charles b. 1856 William b. 1862 Elizabeth b. 1864 Joseph b.1866 Louis b. 18688 Theresa b. 1870 All were born in New York City.
