My father Thomas Elbert Haas was from Gaston, Gastonia, Roanoke Rapids NC area. His father was Luther Haas. His uncle was John Haas. He had several brothers and sisters. One sister was Julia and one was Mary. One I think, they called Weensie. His grandfather and grandmother were supposedly full-blooded Cherokee.
