    3. Greetings, This is my first post to the list so I thought I would post my Haas line. My line 'daughters out' with Elenor Haas (1795-1879) who was married to William I Hoffman (1787-1871). I am a descendent of their son Frederick Hoffman. They lived in Hunterdon County, NJ. Elenor is a daughter of John Haas (1757-1838) and Lydia Rue (1766-aft 1824). John served in the NJ militia during the Revolution. He was born in Bernards TWP, Somerset Co., NJ and died at Bissel (Tewksbury TWP I think) in Hunterdon County, NJ. John was the son of a Johannes Haas who was born c1730, possibly in Germany or Switzerland. He married Maria Boice in c1755. Johannes was naturalized in 1768. Maria was born c1735, possibly Somerset or Middlesex Co., NJ, the daughter of Jacob Buys and Aaghje 'Agatha' Messler. Any information regarding Johannes would be especially appreciated. I'm also interested in corresponding with anyone who thinks they may connect with this line. Regards, Rick Novak
