Hello fellow Haas researchers, I need to say thank you to all of you on this list, along with two other specific thank you mentions! My two other thanks go to the following... First is Linda...you are terrific! Then by "lurking" I saw a wonderful gentleman that was so helpful to me awhile ago in another mail room, while others were...how can I say...just plain rude...no...jerks! OK, that's in the past. But thank you John T. Halbert. I finally feel confident to participate actively in a mailing list. (Maybe it was me (newbie!), but I tried to live up to the "standards", only to be mostly ridiculed with ridiculous responses. So onward.....and try again...) What I truly am respectively asking of all of you is the following. I have the most neat opportunity of being in Utah around the first week of May. I would very much like to visit and obtain valuable info from the "main" Family History Center...But which do I go to? I checked the Internet, but through my query received several different addresses in Salt Lake City. Once I have the address of "the real thing", what would all of you recommend I ask for or bring with me when doing my research ? I am very much a "newbie" to these centers...and unfortunately I was lost and did not have a good experience in Mesa, Az nor any productive directive help, even though I requested that help. My Haas family is still in Germany and I am more than willing to post that history, but much (at least 75% of the history) comes from the hard copy certificates I have from Germany in German script....thanks to my wonderful mother who was born in Germany! As long as I'm not made fun of in my deciphering (Yes, I can take teasing...( I just don't like the "meanies" I've come across in the past)) and if I could have your assistance, I would like very much to share this. In the meantime, I wish all of you well in your searches and if I can be any assistance I will be most happy to help. Especially since in another month I'll be in THE Family History Center (if I only knew the address :-)). Sincerely, Victoria im_sailing@worldnet.att.net
