Hello Fran and Mike, please let me clarify this issue: Baden and Bavaria are both regions in the South of Germany: Bavaria in the South-East (but not to be confused with the former GDR), and Baden in the South-West. Baden used to be a state of its own, but then was united with two other regions (Wuerttemberg and Hohenzollern) to the present-day state Baden-Wuerttemberg. Basically, the region of Baden covers the German shores of the course of the Rhine from the Lake of Constance to Mannheim. Indeed, a large part of the Black Forest is situated in Baden. And, to make the confusion complete, there is also a town called Baden-Baden in the Northern Black Forest. With best wishes, Christina Behrendt (Konstanz in Baden) At 08:47 25.01.2000 -0500, you wrote: >Hey Fran, >Bavaria is in Southern Germany. The city of Munich is there.
