    3. I've only been researching the Haas family since Dec.99. My ggrandmother Anna Haas married Daniel Scherrer, they lived in Detroit, had 13 children of whom I have 10 names. My greatest wall is time. Next is knowledge. After that I have an hr. drive to research at the Historical Library of Lansing. I wasted lots of time at the historical lib not knowing what I was doing. I've been at it for 3 years now and just this year feel like I am getting somewhere. I just found out when and where Anna died, Ashtabula, Ohio, in 1901. Now I can send for her death certificate and hope the place where she was born is named. I also can search the 1900 census for her and see if she became a citizen. Rootsweb really helped with clues about searching. I became suspcious when I couldn't find them in the city directory for a number of years but where did they go?. Found a obit. for Daniel that listed a married daughter in Ohio. It's a time consuming thing and I work full time in a school. I do have summers off. I will be eagerly awaiting new inf. that may clue me in to what part of Baden she was from. If not, I still have Daniel's immigration date to work from. If they became citizens that would help. I have a cousin in Kansas who is hiring a german genealogist to help. So maybe I will learn something sooner and be able to connect with some of you.
