Gen. 1: My furthest-back people are Richard Gwin (b. near Jamestown, James City Co., VA, ca 1748) and Sarah Chesley (b. in Jamestown ca. 1755); they m. there ca. 1773 and had at least one son, Isham Gwin. Gen. 2: Isham Gwin was in NC (what is now east TN, in or near today's Sevier Co.) no later than 1792 when son John Gwin was born there; he had married a Ms. Cleveland; in 1808 he purchased 249 acres on Walden's Creek, Sevier Co., TN. Gen. 3: John Gwin m. Jane Walker of neighboring Blount Co. in 1812, then (no doubt but no proof) served in the War of 1812; John and Jane moved to Dallas Co., AL no later than 1816 when their son Isom was born there; in fact, over the next 16 years, all nine of their kids were born there: Gen. 4 (all b. and m. in Dallas Co., AL): 1.
