The "Family Pictures" is a hoax. there are MANY sites online to check out these hoax warnings. Usually we use snopes.com this one is from http://www.europe.f-secure.com/hoaxes/fampics.shtml I found it listed on every site I checked. Please do not spread hoax warnings. If it is a real hoax it will be in the news. We shouldn't open attachments if we don't recognize the name of the attachment. If there is a question, send a note to the person that you receive the attachment from and ask them if they sent something to you. Hoax Warnings NAME: New Pictures of Family hoax ALIAS: Family Pictures hoax The below hoax message became widespread in the beginning of March, 2001. DO NOT OPEN "NEW PICTURES OF FAMILY" It is a virus that will erase your whole "C" drive. It will come to you in the form of an E-Mail from a familiar person. I repeat a friend sent it to me, but called & warned me before I opened it. He was not so lucky and now he cant even start his computer! Forward this to everyone in your address book. I would rather receive this 25 times than not at all. Also: Intel announced that a new and very destructive virus was discovered recently. If you receive an email called "FAMILY PICTURES," do not open it. Delete it right away! This virus removes all dynamic link libraries (.all files) from your computer. Your computer will not be able to boot up. A described malware doesn't exist, so if you receive this or alike message, please ignore it and don't pass it on. To all the Gwins. I am very sorry that I sent what I thought was a real virus alert. I really thought the man knew what he was talking about and I did check several databases to see if it showed up as a Hoax. At the time I looked for it, it did not show as a hoax. I apologize to each and everyone. I thought for a few hours before I sent the alert. Mr. Brumm I am sorry if this angered you. I thought I was doing the right thing in the warning. I would never send anything that I knew was a hoax. You can be sure I will never send anything again. I personally would rather get something I can just delete instead of getting a virus. I have had them and I also have caught some before they were opened.
