But I'm interested, so I looked for him in the 1920 Oklahoma census and found the following: On January 21, 1920, a couple who answered the census as John Gwin, age 18, and his wife Hazel, age 16, were roomers at 108 1/2 East Hobson in Sapulpa (a suburb south of Tulsa), Creek Co., Oklahoma. His race was listed as Indian, hers as white. He had not attended school since 19 Sep 1919, but she had. Both could read, write, and speak English. His occupation was listed as battery expert, hers as none. He and both his parents were born in Oklahoma; she and both her parents were born in Missouri. However, on Apr. 4, 1930, a John P. Gwin, age 28, was listed as living on E. 2nd St., Tulsa, OK. He was single, Indian, a welder by trade, and a native of Oklahoma. But he listed his parents' place of birth as Kansas (father) and Oklahoma (mother). Best to you, In Jesus, John (Contact information:) =========================================== John M.
