Just wanted to let everyone know that there is now a Y-DNA Surname Group Project for anyone named Guin, Guyn, Gwin, Gwyn and all alternate spellings. I am a co-administrator for the project along with Michael A. Gwinn who started the project just a few weeks ago. Although the project is only a few weeks old, we already have 13 members and have made some interesting discoveries. For example, the Y-DNA results of documented descendents have shown that Robert Gwin, Sr of the Calfpasture River, Augusta Co. VA (1715c-1790c) was not closely related to Patrick Guin of Augusta County. Writers and researchers for many, many years have speculated that they were brothers.
