I’m John Gwin. My known and documented Gwins go back to Isham Gwin who married Mary Canterbury in western Virginia in 1787. They moved to and lived some 20 years in what’s today the Wear Valley of Sever Co., TN, then moved to southern Indiana, finally settling in Orange Co., IN, where he became the first pastor of Providence Primitive Baptist Church and served there until just before his death in Dec. 1830 in his mid 60’s. They had at least eleven and probably twelve children.
