Surnames: Guthrie Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/IBh.2ACIB/1223 Message Board Post: In researching my ancestors, the Guthrie name, I came upon some information from a book titled " Heritage of Carteret County North Carolina" in which was discussed the first arrival of Guthries to the US. This book indicated that the first Guthries came to America in the 1700's. (I'm Sure Guthries were in VA in the 1600's)There were 4 brothers. Two got off the boat in Moorhead City, one at Wilmington and one at Oregon Inlet. I would be interested in obtaining additional info about the Guthries from these areas.The book also indicated one brother was the father of John Wesley Guthrie near Beaufort. Does anyone have more info on these brothers. Their names, where they settled and info on their descendants
