B. Guthrie, father of Pinkney W. Guthrie. Alfred (Alf) B. Guthrie was a brother to my great-grandmother, Ida Mae Guthrie Willis Salinas. Alf was born in December 1859 in Illinois to John and Mary (Turnbow) Guthrie. From Illinois, the family moved to Montgomery Co., Kansas by 1866 and then to Brown Co., Texas by 1880. I have found them on census records of 1870, 1880. Two of Alf's siblings remained in Brown Co., TX, his brother Jacob and sister Clara. I have not been able to determine who the parents of John Guthrie or Mary Turnbow were at this time. I would appreciate any information about Pinkney Guthrie or Alf's wife, Martha, that you might want to share. Sincerely, Dianne Blakley
