Shirley, I did quite a bit of research trying to tie my line to yours and was unsuccessful. They were in the same general area in the same time frames. I will include some of my line. Morris Guthrie My earliest known ancestor is Henry Guthrie (guttry, Guthry, etc.), Said to be born in Georgia in 1812. Married Manerva Lyons in Covington, Newton Co, Ga in 1834. Appears in 1840 Census in Newton Co, Ga. Lived next to a William Guthrie, believe to be a brother. Moved to Roswell District of Cobb Co. Ga by 1850. Children: George W. b 1840, Sanford Wilburn, b 1842, Mary J., b 1845, Josephus b 1847, William Franklin, b 1849, Zacharias, b 1851, Francis, b 1854. Henry left family before 1860 for "gold rush" and was never heard from. All boys served in Civil War. Family moved to Blount 7 Cullman Counties in late 1860's. and remained in that area. Have been unable to identify any of Henry's siblings or parents. So far DNA has not found any close lines. Morris Guthrie
