His name was Henry Guthrie, born circa 1830 in Georgia, died after 1880. Census data has his parents being born in Pennsylvania. Anyone have any information on Guthries who migrated from PA to GA? BTW, the Guthrie spelling has been consistant with all the post 1900 records I have found for my family, but I have seen Henry's surname as Guther (marriage record), Gothuredge (census), and Gurthrie (census).
