Can some one please help me on Patric & Susan J Preston Guthrie. I have a marriage cert. for their son James William Guthrie. James was Born May, 1861 in Cerulean Springs, Ky (this accord to his son's death cert) Patric Guthrie & Susan J. Preston (both born in KY accord to 1900 Wm.Co. IL Census on James) .. Their names according to Marriage info from James W. Guthrie's marriage certificate. It says James is 25 yrs of age- born in Trigg County, Ky.... his place of residence is Western Pct, Herrin, Il..... that he's a farmer. The only Patrick that has been found in Trigg Co, Ky is Patrick H. son of Vincent Guthrie. Listed in 1850 Census -Trigg Co.KY Same Patrick in 1870 Christain Co. Ky. By 1880 Census, the same family had moved to Illinois, Western Co., Williamson. He is not my Patrick!!!! His son's name is James Jackson and I have death cert on him! I found this in The Hurricane Cemetery Book. I think this cemetery is located near Carterville, Herrin area. #521 Sec.V Row 13 N-S James W. Guthrie D. Nov 8,1909 age-47yrs 6mm 26dd (birthdate figures - March 1862) He is buried next to #522 Susan J Guthrie-wife of C. H. She died Aug 27, 1899 age-56yrs 5mm (B. 1843) Susan's maiden name is supposed to be Pursley according to Marriage cert. I know these are not my James' parents, either!!!! I can not find exact date and where exactly he died & is buried. I know it surely has to be Herrin, Il. But could not find a death certificate on him and he is not buried near his sons, Edward & David and wife, Ellen. I found death certificate on a James Wm. but this James is buried near mother, Susan J. wife of C. H. Guthrie in Hurricane Cem. This is not my James' parents names! Guthrie & Family................It list both parents being born in KY.......... James William Guthrie -head of household- age 38 (B. May 1861) in Ky married 13 yrs (1887) a coal miner and his parents both born in Ky, with Ellen- wife- age 36 (B.Aug. 1863) in, IL parents born in IL- with dau. Odessa -age 11(B. Nov.1888) in IL and son Edward age 6 (B. Feb, 1894 in IL . =============================================== *1910 Williamson Co. IL Census (town of Herrin) -show Mrs Ellen Guthrie age 45 (born 1865) Married 23 yrs and head of house with son Edward 16 (B.1894) in Ky and son David age 6 (B. 1904) in IL. ( James & Odessa are missing) James & Odessa-? missing I have searched through mine explosion fatalities for James. No Luck. I can't find a trace of him, Odessa or his parents. Even though he was born in 1861 in Trigg co, Ky, his parents could have lived in a different County in KY for 1870 when census was taken. Please help me find them if you can!
