Surnames: Guthrie Buglass Mitchell Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/IBh.2ACIB/1030 Message Board Post: I'm really stuck looking for my ancestors of John Guthrie and Sarah Mitchell from around Swinton in Berwickshire, Scotland. They had children Andrew b.1846, Archibald b.1848, John b.1850, Robert b.1853, Sarah b.1856, Margaret b.1862 and James b.1865. Archibald moved to Selkirk in the Scottish Borders where he and his son James (mother May Buglass from Coldingham) continued the family business of shoemaking (known locally as a "Souter"). I've found Guthrie's in Coldingham whom I believe are connected, but so far I've found nothing else to support this. If any of the above sounds familiar then I'd love to hear from you.
