Dann in San Fran >>>>> Gee Dann, You get your hands on a lot of neat books. Where do you find them? I have a close friend who is from the GUITHRIES of Halifax County, Virginia, where she was born. Is there much information on them in the book? I downloaded all the Guthries from Halifax Cty. that the LDS site has in their census records. My friend's grandfather's name is Alonzo GUTHRIE, but I haven't found him yet, and I was given information about an Alonzo born in North Carolina, so I may be looking in the wrong place for him. She had never heard that he was from North Carolina, so I am not sure where to begin. They say "start with what you know", and I don't know much, but if this book has a lot of info on the Halifax County GUTHRIES, I would try to find a copy.
