He married ANN ELLIS Abt. 1838 in Clinton County, KY, daughter of JESSE ELLIS and REBECCA WILLIAMS. She was born Abt. 1818 in Cumberland County, KY, and died 1888 in Clinton County, KY. In my research I did find reference to another Dempsey (possible his uncle?) that owned land prior to this Dempsey's birth in Kentucky (same area) and was in the militia during War of 1812 era. I'd have to look in my files to reverify.
