My grandmother, Sarah Elizabeth Smith, was born in Sheffield, England, in 1877. Her mother was Annie Jubb married to William Henry Smith, Sr. I do not know any further back on either Annie or William Henry, but I do have a birth record of my grandmother's sister, Alice Smith, in which William Henry was described as a "bone scale cutter." The Smiths, it appears to me, could be very difficult to locate, but perhaps Jubb would be somewhat easier. (I hope!) If you or anyone else who happens to read this could shed any light on this family, I would be really excited about it.
