I did get information from a fellow Gutherie who put me in touch with the fantastic Guthrie geneology (The Descendants of Kenneth Duane Guthrie from Alexander Guthrie, I Liard of Kincaldrum). It had all the information I needed and I was able to trace my branch of the Guthrie family to the 1400's and Alexander Guthrie. Regarding Henry Clay Guthrie: He was the son of Issac Newton Guthrie b. 10-5-1810 in Shelby, KY. He married Mary Beauchamp in 1832 and he died in 1896 in Gallatin,TN. His father was James Guthrie who was born in VA in 1779 and died in KY in 1840. I don't know if you are part of a branch of my Guthrie family, but I appreciate your help and interest. Thank you.
