My oldest proven ancestor - Robert Guthrie, (b) 10 Aug 1773 in N.C.; he died 22 Feb 1856 in Giles Co., Tn. Married: Martha Jane Norwood, b. 1779 in S.C., died ca. 1858 in Giles Co., Tn. She was dau. of Capt. John Norwood and Jane Pickens Norwood. It is unknown who Robert Guthrie's parents were; I am hoping someone who reads this might have the answer to that.
