They moved to Iowa about 1860 or 1865. Their fathers name was James E Guthrie, and the mother was Mary J. Kennan. The children, in addition to William, were Elizabeth M.(my greatgrandmother), Samuel C., Ellen F., John Graham, Anning Edward, Eva, and James Alfred.
