Good evening, For some time now, I've thought that the earliest Guthrie's to step ashore in the colonies were: Robert Guthrie 1652 Block Island, New York documented by ship roster. John Guthrie 1652 an area that is now is Middlesex Co., VA estimated from Court Records I suspect both of these were prisoners of war from either the Battle of Dunbar or the Battle of Worcester. The ship Robert was on was a prisoner of war ship. John, I think he probably swan over. I think there were only two, not four or seven as reported elsewhere. Any comments????
