Just upstream from the Cowanshannock Creek on the Allegheny, there's small tributary that I think might be Guthrie's Run. The steep, narrow, maybe overgrown topography is consistent with the little info I've found so far. It looks like there's a bridge over the gorge on the USGS topographical map The road then follows a ledge that likely was once narrow (or so I will aledge:-). But it looks to me like it could be a tricky traverse--- through what once might of been a stretch of thick canyon forrest. Than I got the Terra Server Satallite images up and discovered the ridges have been lopped off. The "Overburden" was all removed for the coal. I can't figure from the photo if the run's channel has been buried. Wouldn't surprise me though. Can you unhaunt a hollow by filling it in? Click here: Microsoft TerraServer Imagery http://terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.com/image.aspx?t=2&s=12&x=783&y=5653&z=17& w=1 It looks like the run I'm looking for......I hope I'm wrong.
