SC and James' first wife Sarah Burnett. Sarah died in 1859 and James remarried to Samantha Teel who would have raised Columbus. I descend from James Guthrie's brother Thomas. James and Thomas were sons of Benjamin Franklin Guthrie who I have tracked from SC in 1820, Troup Co. GA in 1830 and on a tax list in Chambers Co. AL in 1842. James and Thomas later show up in Tallapoosa Co. AL where they both lived and died. I have that your Christopher Columbus was born 15 Mar 1858 in Dadeville, Tallapoosa Co. AL and died 23 Aug 1955 in Comanche Co. TX. He married 1) Missie Carroll 21 Dec 1876 in Tallapoosa Co. and 2) Emma Golden abt 1890.
